Most outcall bookings in Bangalore end at a hotel room, so the front desk matters more than people think. A lot of men worry about it before they call us. Most of that worry goes away once you know what a desk normally asks for, and what it does not. Rules change from one hotel to the next, so read this as a general guide and check your own hotel's rule when you book the room.
Every hotel in India asks the guest checking in for a photo ID. An Aadhaar card, driving licence, voter ID or passport is the usual list, and the desk keeps a copy. If you are a foreign national, they will take your passport and visa details, because the hotel has to register foreign guests with the authorities. Most hotels also ask for a card or a cash security deposit at check-in. It comes back to you when you leave, as long as nothing has been added to the room bill.
One rule catches people out. Some hotels, mostly the smaller and budget ones, do not accept an ID that shows a Bangalore address. If you live in the city and want a room for one night, ask about this when you book, not when you are already standing at the counter with your bag.
This is the part that changes the most. Many larger hotels use key cards in the lift, so nobody reaches a guest floor without one. The desk may ask a visitor which room they are going to, call the room to check, or ask them to write a name in a visitors' register. Some hotels ask a visitor for ID as well.
A few hotels do not allow visitors in guest rooms at all, or only until a fixed time at night. Service apartments and smaller lodges are often more relaxed, but not always. The simple way to know is to ask the desk when you check in whether a guest can come up to your room later. It is a normal question, and they hear it every day from people meeting friends and colleagues.

Service apartments usually work more like a rented flat. There is a guard at the gate, sometimes a register, and often no lobby desk watching the lift. Lodges vary a lot. Some are very easy about visitors, and some keep a close eye on everyone who goes upstairs.
Give us the hotel name, the room number and the name the room is booked under. That is all we need to send her to the right door. If the desk has told you that visitors must sign in or show ID, say so on the call, so she knows what to expect when she walks in.
